About FNAC

Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) is a valuable and minimally invasive diagnostic procedure. FNAC is a specialized technique used to obtain tissue or fluid samples from various parts of the body for examination under a microscope. This procedure aids our experienced medical team in diagnosing and providing accurate insights into various lumps, masses, and suspicious lesions.

FNAC is a relatively simple and quick procedure that can be performed on an outpatient basis. It involves the use of a fine, thin needle attached to a syringe, which is carefully inserted into the target area to collect cells or fluid. The needle is guided by imaging techniques, such as ultrasound or CT scan, to ensure precise sample collection from the specific area of interest.

The obtained cellular material is then smeared onto a glass slide and stained for examination by our skilled cytologists. The examination under the microscope allows for the identification and characterization of the cells, providing valuable information about the nature of the lesion, whether it is benign (non-cancerous), malignant (cancerous), or inconclusive.

FNAC is a valuable tool in the diagnosis of various conditions, including breast lumps, thyroid nodules, lymph node enlargement, and superficial masses. It is often used as a first-line diagnostic tool due to its minimally invasive nature, reducing the need for more invasive procedures.

At our Diagnostic Center, your comfort and safety are paramount during the FNAC procedure. Our team of experienced medical professionals ensures that the procedure is conducted with precision and care. The results of the FNAC test are promptly provided to our patients.

We understand the importance of accurate and timely diagnoses, and FNAC is one of the many services we offer to ensure that you receive the best possible care. If you have any concerns about lumps or masses in your body, don't hesitate to schedule an appointment with us.
